ILCAR Feed: products for the feed industry

Thanks to its precious components, carob has recognized positive effects on the general health of animals. Rich in carbohydrates, carob has a high energy value but is very digestible and, thanks to its particular sugar composition, has a hypoglycemic effect helping the assimilation of the protein part of feed. It has a very high fiber content and this has a particular effect on the well-being of the gastrointestinal system. It is rich in polyphenols, powerful antioxidants that have strong anti-inflammatory and immune system protection properties.

Inside, the carob is made up of fleshy and sugary pulp, and very hard seeds that are separated from the pulp during the crushing process. From the processing of carob seed is obtained germination, feed raw material composed of germs and peel, with a high protein value. The crushed carob can also undergo other processes and become powder, also used in feed formulations, making them tastier and more aromatic. Both crushed carob and powder can be excellent ingredients in animal feed, increasing their palatability and having a positive effect on the general health of the animals.
