ILCAR focuses on food safety through a thorough inspection of the raw materials and the manufacture. The internal laboratory is equipped with innovative quality control machinery and supported by external laboratories accredited by Accredia (Italian Accreditation Authority).

To improve business processes and efficiency in the manufacture, in 2001 ILCAR obtained the ENI UNI ISO 9001 certification.

As the food industry has evolved, it has been necessary to implement the global standard for BRC food safety (internationally recognized by GFSI Global Food Safety Initiative), the Kosher for Jewish consumers and the Halal for the Islamic doctrine.

Our products are certified according to the n.834/07 REG.CE regulation and the n.889/08 organic standard.

For over a hundred years, the Gennaro family has put the carob at the centre of its entrepreneurial life, as a fruit that embodies authenticity and tradition. Our history began in the early 900s when Rosario Gennaro, the grandfather of the current owner, started his activity as a carob dealer, becoming an expert.
